On Friday morning, June 14th at 1:30 o’clock, freedom fighters of “The Kingdom Assembly of Iran” (a.k.a. “Tondar”), targeted the “Khatam al-Anbia Shia Seminary” center in Shiraz with explosives.
The bomb was set up to explode during the prayer ceremony of the Revolutionary Guards, and executed as revenge for the murder of Tondar member, Vahid Sayadi Nassiri, who was killed in Qhom prison. The Khatam-ol-Anbia complex completely belongs to the Revolutionary Guard Corps. The commander of the operation, “Aria Giv”, during his mission report, noted that:
“Islamic State policy is very stupid. Despite their high losses, they are not able to conceal or disprove the news of the ‘explosion in the seminary’. To shut down the fire, at least five fire trucks were deployed to the premises during the first hour. Dozens of ambulances were constantly traveling back and forth from the site. I do not know how many casualties, but it is certain it’s a high number.”
The commander adds that:
In this center members of the Revolutionary Guards are being trained for unlawful rule over our country. In addition to Ayatullah Makarem Shirazi himself, the following criminals have been identified in belonging to this domain:
Seyyed Reza Ashtiani (former member of the Fajr Security Guard unit of Shiraz), Mohammad Hajizadeh (leader of the Fajr army in Shiraz), Hossein Derakhshi (head of clerical affairs in the Fajr army of Shiraz), Talab Seyyed Sadegh Hosseini Maram (member of Imam Sadiq mosque security unit) Talaba Sajjad Khadem Al-Hussein (member of the editorial board of Shiraz news agency 113)
All other news agencies quoted the Fars State News Agency, which officially stated that the cause of the explosion was due to a “gas leak”. The number of casualties was not disclosed in their article. In Iran, reporters are not allowed to report independently on the “Revolutionary Guard” but instead must use the text of the news dictated by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
Tondar considers the Revolutionary Guard a hostile institution to the Iranian people and considers their destruction and dismantlement as a national duty of all Iranians. On August 6th, 2016, the spokesman of the Kingdom Assembly of Iran, Jamshid Sharmahd, published an Open Letter to the Commander of the Revolutionary Guard Corps Mohammad Ali Jafari, for the first time declaring the institution as a non-Iranian institution. From that date onward, anything and anyone belonging to this institution would be known as an enemy military targets.
Following the release of the news by Tondar, efforts have been made to deny the issue. At 5:00 o’clock in the morning, after the event, Tondar publically accepts responsibility for this explosion. The IRGC orders all state news agencies to remove the article from their websites after the denial proved ineffective, but the original article was archived and can be found here and here.
Two days after the explosion, Tondar released a video of their operation which can be viewed here.
